The Department of Culture, Language, and Youth has renewed choreographer and cultural mediator Kirenia Martínez as the director of *Escenas do Cambio*. She made her debut this year leading the theater, dance, and performance art festival organized by the City of Culture in its tenth edition.
With a program that honored the legacy of the festival’s previous artistic directors, Pablo Fidalgo and Lola Correa, while maintaining its transformative essence, Kirenia Martínez successfully attracted new audiences to this established event, which is one of the most significant in contemporary stage creation in Galicia and Spain. Over a thousand people attended the shows at the most recent edition of *Escenas do Cambio*, held last May.
The Director-General of Culture, Anxo M. Lorenzo, and the Managing Director of the City of Culture Foundation, Ana Isabel Vázquez, expressed their confidence that the festival will continue to grow in future editions, both as a platform for emerging talent in Galicia and in its connection with the international avant-garde scene.
