ABOUT US
Kirenia Danza is a contemporary dance company based in A Coruña, Spain, directed by the Cuban-Galician artist and dancer Kirenia M. Acosta. Their work places the body at the center of artistic and political thought: a body that remembers, resists, desires, and engages in dialogue with the landscape and time we inhabit.
The company creates, directs, distributes, and produces stage projects in which dance coexists with poetry, physical theater, and ecosomatic practices. They investigate new expressions linked to movement and the dramaturgy of the body, opening spaces to explore how lived experience intertwines with personal and collective dimensions. Their themes include identity, migration, ecofeminism, ageism, and transformative vulnerability.
Their work is committed to ongoing research and the hybridization of artistic languages. They combine their own creations with choreographic commissions, theatrical collaborations, training projects, and European cooperation initiatives focused on inclusion and intergenerational dialogue. From Galicia, he maintains an international activity and builds a universe based on honesty, risk and bodies that become territory.
