ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:

The Kirenia Danza company presents "Afectos," the third installment of its choreographic trilogy "Os vulnerables." This trio of productions focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on migrants and their network of affections. The company has demonstrated its commitment to this issue through two previous productions: "E-migrantas" in 2020 and "Primeiro a vida!" in 2021, addressing the need for a change in the current model of managing social crises. In recent years, the pandemic has highlighted the importance of protecting the fundamental rights of migrants and displaced individuals, whether for economic reasons, climate crises, political, ethnic, or sexual persecution, conflicts, or other causes. Many people, including dance artists, have been affected during the COVID-19 crisis and have needed assistance.

Afectos:

The work "Afectos" places us before an allegorical reflection on the human heritage of migration, such as the Camino de Santiago in Galicia, the Kumano Kodo in Japan, the humanitarian corridors of Ukraine, or the new routes of Central American emigration. "Afectos" is a tribute to the complexity of human emotions and an invitation to connect with our own emotional selves. It invites audiences to reflect on the importance of solidarity in challenging times.
